A 2016 Dodge van was driving west on South Lake Drive near Bluefield Road in the Red Bank area just before 9:30 a.m. on Saturday when it collided with a 2019 Dodge pickup truck that was heading east, Cpl. Nicholas Pye said.

The driver was operating an Infiniti SUV north on U.S. 701 when they veered off the road to the right and hit a tree near Marine Park Road, Butler said. The crash happened at 5:43 a.m. on Saturday and the person died on the scene.

The person driving the motorcycle died after the accident near North Myrtle Beach, SC, said the South Carolina Highway Patrol.

Separate crashes in Horry and Georgetown counties left two people dead and another person injured early on Oct. 19, according to the S.C. Highway Patrol.

A 76-year-old man has died following a morning crash in Iredell County, according to troopers with the North Carolina State Highway Patrol. On Sunday around 9:20 a.m., troopers said they were investigating a fatal crash on Old Mountain Road at Rumple Hill Drive in Statesville.

The driver of the Jeep, identified as 71-year-old Richard Wayne Earp, died at the scene from his injuries. The driver of the Ford, 58-year-old Rebecca McKinney Hamrick of Asheville, was transported to Atrium Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center with life-threatening injuries.
