Mater Dei shows why it’s the No. 1 team in the country, and also showed there’s a big gap between itself and No. 2 St. John Bosco Friday night.

On the game’s third play, St. John Bosco’s Daniel Odom caught a pass and one step later Mater Dei strong safety CJ Lavender blasted into Odom, causing a fumble recovered by Monarchs cornerback Daryus Dixson who made a short return to the St. John Bosco 35-yard line.

The Monarchs use two early interceptions and a fumble recovery to score a pair of defensive touchdowns in lopsided matchup with the Braves.
