As Election Day and the voting period approaches, some voters may be in need of an absentee ballot this election year.

Nearly 2.3 million absentee ballots have been requested by voters in Michigan ahead of the general election in November.

General Election absentee ballots returned by mail must be received by the voter’s local clerk by 5 p.m. on election day.

To be counted, absentee ballots sent from within the United States must be received by local clerks no later than 8 p.m. on Election Day, Nov. 5.
