Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi will meet Chinese President Xi Jinping on Wednesday at the BRICS summit in Russia, India's foreign secretary said, their first meeting since 2020 when ties nosedived after their forces clashed on their disputed frontier.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi has arrived in Kazan, Russia, to participate in the BRICS Summit 2024. Shortly, he is expected to hold a bilateral meeting with Russian President Vladimir Putin. A possible meeting with Chinese President Xi Jinping is also on the agenda.

The Prime Minister also reflected on his two visits to Russia in the past three months, highlighting these trips as evidence of the close coordination and enduring friendship between the two nations.
