Six San Francisco public transport employees who were fired for refusing to get COVID-19 vaccines have been awarded more than $1 million each. The Bay Area Rapid Transit [BART] employees filed a discrimination lawsuit saying they were wrongly terminated for refusing the vaccine on “sincerely held religious beliefs.

Six former employees for the Bay Area Rapid Transit agency who lost their jobs when they did not get Covid vaccines for religious reasons have been awarded more than $1 million each, according to court documents related to a lawsuit the California workers filed.

A federal jury has sided with fired Bay Area Rapid Transit (BART) workers who sued the agency claiming they lost their jobs over a COVID vaccine mandate. There are six of them total in the lawsuit and each will receive more than $1 million.

BART employees claim wrongful termination over COVID-19 vaccine refusal due to “sincerely held religious beliefs.”

Six former BART employees are each due a $1 million payout after accusing the agency of wrongly firing them because of a COVID-19 vaccine mandate. On Wednesday, a jury in the U.S District Court for the Northern District of California sided with the employees who refused the vaccine for religious reasons.
