BSE Sensex and Nifty50 tanked in trade on Friday. BSE Sensex ended the day at 79,402.29, down 663 points or 0.83%. Nifty50 closed the day at 24,180.80, down 219 points or 0.90%.

Indian benchmark equity indices BSE Sensex and Nifty 50 opened higher on Thursday. At opening bell, the BSE Sensex was up 126 points, or 0.16 per cent, at 80,208, while the Nifty 50 was at 24,465, higher by 29.

The trends on Gift Nifty indicate a gap-up start for the Indian benchmark index. The Gift Nifty was trading around 24,540 level, a premium of nearly 60 points from the Nifty futures’ previous close.
