MONTREAL — Alexis Lafreniere has always been swarmed by the local media whenever he returns to his hometown of Montreal. And naturally, he was the center of attention Tuesday at the Bell Centre, after the Rangers’ morning skate before their road trip finale against the Canadiens.

Alexis Lafreniere did not practice with the team on Monday, but the Rangers wing skated on his own afterward. Despite the Rangers saying Lafreniere is day-to-day with an upper-body injury, the 23-year-old did not look hampered during his individual session.

The New York Rangers have announced that forward Alexis Lafrenière is out day-to-day with an upper-body injury. Lafrenière has three goals and three assists for six points in five games.
