U.S. stocks were poised to record their biggest one-day drops in roughly seven weeks on Wednesday, as worries about rising Treasury yields and the potential outcome of the upcoming Nov. 5 presidential election weighed on investors.

U.S. stocks are falling Wednesday as more steam comes out of Wall Street’s huge, record-breaking rally. The S&P 500 was down 1.1% in late trading and heading for its worst drop in six weeks. It’s also on track for its first three-day losing streak since then,

S&P 500 futures are up 0.4%. Dow Jones Industrial Average futures are down 0.1%. Nasdaq 100 futures are advancing 0.7%.

Treasury yields climb to 4.23%, dragging stock futures lower. Earnings disappointments from McDonald’s and Starbucks further weigh on market sentiment.

The major averages slipped on Wednesday, a day after the S&P 500 index posted back-to-back negative sessions for the first time since early September. Investors will now turn their attention to Tesla (TSLA) earnings.
