When speaking to reporters on Tuesday, the fourth-year guard credited his new coach for bringing something to the team that was missing in recent years.

Although Detroit's defensive improvements stem from several of the players' personal developments, Cunningham credits Bickerstaff's philosophy for the team's growth on defense. Last season, the Pistons were one of the worst defensive teams in the league, ranking 26th in defensive rating while giving up an average of 119 points per game.

The Detroit Pistons open their regular season schedule tomorrow at home against the Indiana Pacers. Plenty of focus is centered around Detroit's fourth-year point guard, Cade Cunningham. He commented on the budding connection of the young core at practice on Tuesday as their home opener approaches.
